Went detecting after work last night, no insitu pics, my phone was dead, so just the cleaned up pics, I found the bottle when I was digging a huge (art nuevo?) button. This bottle doesn't have a cat on the bottom like other Guinness bottles I have found, but I can clearly see "Guinness" and "Dublin" on the label. I don't know what I am going to be able to do to try and preserve the label, it's in bad shape, but still shocking it came out of the ground with a label on it at all! Also a what's it. No clue.

Yes, I have also found some with applied tops, that have a cat embossed on the bottom, the only way I can tell they were Guinness bottles! This one has the cat on the label. They used this label from the 1870's all the way up to the early 1900's. Looks like this:uFGAgDMoQhthP4n1pF5NAg-small.webp Because of the crown top (bottle cap) I am thinking it is definitely is from the early 1900's.

What about deco posh glue?

I really love the everything from the Art Nouveau period, such great design. Your button is gorgeous, and that bottle with the label is really cool!

Very cool!! Congrats and HH
