Got a Chinese knockoff brand off Amazon. Now I don’t know how to use it or where to even begin.

All I can say is that I’m shocked. I found this crock lid at one of my artifact sites and it is really big, it’s about the size of a dinner plate. Most of the large artifacts here go through a lot of pressure and end up coming out broken. This one, however, did not. I saw only a small portion of it sticking out and as soon as this lid was dug out, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I’ve always wanted to find a crock at some point, but I would take this lid any day because it’s absolutely huge. There’s some little chips in it but otherwise, this lid is perfect. I can live with some chips. I also found a couple of bottles, one of which looks really old to me. I also found 2 ceramic tea mugs, one almost complete, and the other with the handle broken off. I also found a busted up porcelain vase with decorations on them, some bottle tops, a decorated ink tablet with Chinese writing on it, a really old lightbulb, and I think that about wraps it up for this antique hunt. There was a lot of stuff found so now I’m thinking of investing in a storage locker sometime soon because the accumulation of items is starting to get overwhelming.

Anyways, without further ado, let’s get on to the finds! Here they are.

2 bottles, a really cool ceramic mug, and a huge crock lid. This was one of my top days I’ve ever had out here. I’m very happy about the crock lid, and of everything else of course.

I cannot believe this lid preserves this well at this site. I’ve never pulled anything huge out of here complete, so this was a first. I’m looking forward to finding the crock that fits this lid!

The ceramic mug and the vase:

I’m debating on whether or not to keep the broken ones. I think I should throw them out, being that they’re broken but I don’t really know. I fixed the one with the handle because the handle had broken off, and a small bit of the spout had been damaged but this one was mostly complete. It’s a really cute little teapot!

I scaled the crock lid in the length of a Dr. Pepper, which is approximately 9 inches. I’m really enamored with this lid. It’s my largest artifact yet and such a nice display piece.

The bottles:

Sir Robt. Burnett & CO’s dry gin bottle:

This bottle seems really old for this area. I’m normally finding early 1900’s artifacts here but I’ve recently started to find more evidence of older bottles here. This bottle was blown in a mold, and the top seems crude for the 1900’s. I don’t know what your guys input would be on this but I think it looks old to me.

The top looks applied to me. The sides say “Sir Robt. Burnett & CO’s” and “London Dry Gin” let me know what you guys think of this bottle.

This one was from a different day and I decided to clean it up. It says “Washington Brewery Company Registered Washington, D.C.” the bottom also says “this bottle not to be sold”

These small artifacts were fun to find. I got a really old lightbulb in really good condition, 2 bottle tops, and an ink plate with Chinese writing on it. All and all, this was a really good day to be spent artifact collecting. I hope to find that crock to go along with the lid.
