A bit of a dry spell for gold rings. My last was exactly a month ago and there were 5 within a 3 week period then. I was very disappointed with the 4th weekend..just a little silver with lots of effort.
Well Yesterday was a bit different,in the dry sand with the PI a small ladies 10K high school ring showed up in my scoop. Gotta love that chunky feeling in the scoop.
Not huge it weighs in at 3.9 grams and has HILDA and also 3 initials inside. The school is a ways from here, Redondo Union class of 1985. Their site doesn't come up on my computer so I'll try calling tomorrow to see if I can locate the owner. Based on the corrosion it seems not to be a new drop but rather a result of sand being moved into the area (somewhere in Long Beach).
