11 Months of Metal Detecting

OutBack Duo · Feb 26, 2006

My wife bought me my Whites DFX for my birthday (March 05) and I have done quite well. In the last 11 months I have found almost 4000 coins and these 21 rings. I have had a great time and have gotten a lot of much needed exercise.

only about 15 Silver coins the rest were clad. My oldest silver is 1899 Quarter. My oldest find is a 1887 IH penny. The majority of my hunting is done in local parks. I am originally from upstate NY and get back home once a year in July, thats when I am able to do most my relic and old coin hunting. I currently live in Kansas City and the competition and not knowing too many people makes it a little harder to find great places to hunt but I am making progress.

Good luck on more silvers to add to the total, & Happy hunting~

Done well my foot!! That was FANTASTIC!! When I get to KC we need to hit some places. The casinos have lots of coins and they will let you take all you want home. Burdie

Dath, that's an amazing first year.

Did your wife claim any of those rings? If she did, she's getting a great return on her investment.

I Hope your next year is as good or even better. Good luck.

If someone told me to chose just one, it would be a tough decision. I love them all.

Congratulations on all your awesome finds.

Thanks everyone! And yes the wife likes to wear the Silver one in the back row middle. I found that one on South Padre Island, it has a Blue topaz center stone with 16 small diamonds around it. I always complain that I don't have anywhere around here to hunt other than parks, if it weren't for the parks I wouldn't have all these nice rings.

Thanks again and happy hunting!

Nice set of rings there. I bet your wife's happy to sort through them for you! You've obviously learned your detector well, and getting the most out of it!
Cheers Angela

D,

Don,t belittle yourself, you have had great results for 11 months. You have the same problem I have , not too many places to go and only a few public parks. This summer I will try to get permission form private land owners (older properties). That should help me get better finds. My motto is "The only sure No answer is not asking at all."

good Luck,

Ed Donovan
