I decided to hit garage sales this AM. I normally don't. The first sign I saw was an estate sale. It was a family run sale. There was a huge table with a lot of jewelry. The lady said $0.50 for ear rings, $0.75 for rings and $1 for bracelets. I sorted thru this as quick as i could and spent $7. Got home and all the pieces weighed 130g. All but the turquoise ring is marked 925 but it tested for silver too. BTW…we had a big laugh with the lady who was the daughter of the woman of the estate who passed. I found a pot leaf pendant in her jewelry. I asked her about it and she had no clue why her mom had it. We both laughed.

got a picture of the pot leaf pendant? I would not have left that behind.:icon_thumright:
It looked like a cheap pendant. If it was period 70's I would have kept it.

big score, I like that fat bracelet

Ain't no chicken feed at that sale

the amazing thing was that I did not get there until 11am. I hate to think what i missed.

question about 925 silver you find - do you usually polish it if you are going to sell it or leave the patina? Thanks great score!

Its jewelry not coins...lol. I don't think anyone sells nice black tarnished silver jewelry & expects top dollar. On the other hand I know of people (girls) who have sold silver jewelry because it was all tarnished.. and again, lol.

I polish all of my silver. I love to restore, repair and repurpose items. I take the single ear rings I find and make pendants out of them. At this point I haven't sold. As I said this was my first yard sale in well over a year. I am usually an MDer.

Sweet silver Jim ! Who needs a metal detector :laughing7:
