The black spots are very slightly raised and are barely noticeable with my finger tip. I'm leaning more toward metal fusion being the culprit. I'll give the hot stove method a try first. Thnx for your input, as I don't want to ruin this little lady.

If spots are from metal fusion, heating the coin should have no noticable effect.

Yeah, I tried heating it last night and had no luck with those black spot.

I'm still leaning towards zapping it with short intervals and not letting it out of my site while doing so.

Thanks again for your suggestions and I will post a cleaned up photo when I get it cleaned up.

Great coin!
I use Nevr-Dull to clean coins. It is cotton wadding impregnated with cleaning fluid. It will not scratch your coin. Your local hardware store should have some.
