Went back to the 150 year old fairgrounds today. Thought I would make a fast post. 2 wheats and 2 Seated Dimes. The top is a 1877. The bottom one was in the middle of race track so horses pounded it quite well. If you magnify it you can see the head at the top along with 2 stars to the left.

Wow I have hunted an old fairgrounds (on the map in 1874) it's still in use. I imagine the OLD coins are over 16 inches deep since over the years they laid pea gravel and sod has built up. How deep were those coins? Congrats on the 2 seated!!!

This fairgrounds have been closed since late 1950's. They were about 4-7 inches.

That pounded one is really neat, especially if it has hoof prints in it.

Really cool coins, I especially like the seated that's almost unidentifiable, great site!

Cool finds, especially that awesome piece of silver !!

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Not bad at all! Gota love old areas like that. Your supper worn dime reminds me of a steam locomotive flattened IH I found a month or so back at a old fair grounds.

Thanks Pointman. I had to put it between two blocks of wood to hammer it flat.
