I ran across this rather interesting account of the 1554 Spanish Fleet that went aground on Padre Island.
It's in a Google Books copy of the University of Texas at Austin alumni magazine "The Alcalde" from February 1970.
It's kind of small, but it's an interesting contemporary account, so I thought I'd share.
Enjoy!
