16 - 1800's Coins

Hit an old Agricultural Fair Grounds (1866-1900). This is now a field which was in beans this year. The old gentleman (80) who lived across the road said it had been hit hard over the years. Grounds consisted of 15 acres. Managed to find 4 seated dimes (1850,1855,1874,1876) 1 two cent piece 1865, 2 shield nickels 1868's and 9 Indian Head Pennies(1859,1864,1875.2-1876,1884,1888,189?,1905. These were found with a CZ-3D. Thanks for looking fair ground coins 2.JPG

Holy smoke!!

You had a spectacular hunt. . .

Another perfect example of a "so-called" hunted out site

15 is a lot of acres. . . there's more stuff to be found :)

That's an awesome hunt, congrats!! That's about as much seated as I've found in 25 years.

Mike, holy cow man!! four seated dimes!! One of my brother's favorite detecting stories is about finding an old carnival site from the 20's that had never been hit. Can't wait to see what else is waiting for ya there!!

Awesome! It would take a long time to wipe the grin off my face if that was the stuff I'd found.
