Excuse my rambling, but so excited!
At long last, got to go camping 4 days at a park away from the incoming heat in Yacolt. Not a old park, Mid 1960's
Been here once, found a silver Rosie (Only silver since Oct) and of course clad and shower tokens. But I like a good clad hunt, fun to just get in some digging on easy targets. Great icebreaker to chat up other campers.
Of course you can't detect occupied sites so it was a daily cruise to see whos come and gone.
Zincs were coming in at 18-20, coppers around 22, but Brass shower tokens at a solid 20 but a larger pinpoint.
Cruised our campsite after dinner and surprise! A silver 1963 Rosie popped out! Yippie!
Last day, made it to a new loop, had a bit of a silver coin brag with a friendly hippie guy who said now you need to find some gold. I laughed and told him that with all of the can slaw the only low numbers I dig are solid Nickle numbers. (my first only only gold to this day was a solid Nickle signal in a coin spill)
When hunting campsites I always hit the area I call "shake and rake zone" where folks shake out their tents and the crew rake out debris to the edges. Found a silver toe ring once doing it so hope springs eternal.
2 sites from the nice Hippie guy, a grubby site, started my grid. A sprinkling of clad, then a solid 20 nice and clear. Cool, wasn't a token, but I found a brass ring! Only jewelry I found so far this year.
Kind of heavy? What that inside, writing? Holy Crap!!!! Ran back to my camp and grabbed the loupe. Photos? Of Course!

10 grams of 14k with the wedding date engraved inside.
Once a member here said if I kept digging zincs one day I would be surprised - well zinc numbers worked!
HH all and may a surprise come your way also
