Found this a while ago thought it was just slag, I had to soak it in olive oil forever to see the features!!!!

The original coin could be Philip III or IV, then it had been overstrike on 1641 with the value of VIII (8) Maravedis in the mint mark of Toledo (T under de value).

I'm glad I'm not the only to see the goose in the coin's image! And I thought the image above it was a giraffe's head too..... Really cool find again JD, and nice help from everyone on the ID, especially MalteseFalcon.
 
the shipwreck museum in fenwick island delaware is incredible! last time i was there they had a whole tray full of copper coins found at coin beach. along with lots of other amazing things.if anyone is ever down (or up) that way,put it on your list of must see places!

I found something similar. But I thought it was just junk. It is still in the bottom of my bag. So soaking it in olive oil works?
