A couple things. The edge makes it look cast, not struck. Also the letters and numbers are "mushy". That also tends to lean toward a cast coin and not a struck one. Originals were hand struck.

The shillings were made of silver. If you drop it on a flat surface like a table top, a silver coin will have a "ringing" sound to it.

An original in this condition is $8,000 plus. If you bought it for a hundred or two, you have your answer.

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Meluckycharms27! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

2nd - I moved ya from HELP! over to COINS for more exposure.

Yes, picture of the edge please.

I also have some questions pertaining to the lettering and numbers. As the others stated a rim photo would be helpful.:icon_thumleft:

if real it is a nice one...all the lettering is very clear and not worn. and it is very centered too. only can be authenticated in hand, we cannot tell you for sure here.

Yep..
1st post...pine tree shilling...one and done. Ddf.

Looks cast to me.
