After covering all the escape routes, Crook ordered the charge on the village while intending to view the raid from afar, but his horse got spooked and galloped ahead of Crook's forces toward the village. Caught in the crossfire, Crook's horse carried the general through the village without being wounded. The army caused heavy casualties for the Paiute in the battle of Tearass Plain.[SUP][15][/SUP] Crook later defeated a mixed band of Paiute, Pit River, and Modoc at the Battle of Infernal Caverns in Fall River Mills, California.

Ummm, uhhh, so what's your point ? There were exploratory ships as early as the mid 1500's. A few recorded landings (eg.: Viscaino in 1602, etc...). And the eventual permanent European toe-hold (got off ship and actually stayed ) in 1769. So .... I don't know what you're driving at. If you can find some objects with a metal detector from that exploration (pre 1769) era, please post away. Otherwise, .... what are you trying to say ?

If your point is that there was permanent European persons landing and living here prior to 1769, then .... I consider all that you're posting to be nothing more than Bigfoot and UFO type sensationalism . Where the proponents will consider themselves the victors , until someone can prove-to-the-contrary. (like the whole Oak Island silliness). But that burden-of-proof is bass-ackwards. Don't throw out theories and conjectures, and assume that they must be true, until someone else proves otherwise. On the contrary: The burden of proof is on the person making extraordinary claims.
