Went back to my 8reale spot today for a half day hunt..
Finds covered 300 years..
Was real happy to get my first intact shoe buckle.
Then came the silvers, I hate to sound ungrateful but man what a bummer. When your finding 1700s shoe buckles and 8Reales,then pull out merks.
NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING.
Then came some flat buttons and the spoon bowl.
Right before I left I found 2 toasted coppers. At least I thought they were, but got home and the one vleaned up real nice..1852 LC.
If anyone ever seen this little bottle with the copper around it let me know. I have never seen anything like it before.
Thanks for looking
George

Nice, productive hunt there George. That's a great looking buckle, but either you have a tiny hand or that buckle is huge (or both :laughing7:). And the details on that LC are superb. Thanks for the text and phone call. Now get out there and dig that pit we've been talking about.

Wow,nice buckle:headbang: if you don't want the silver, you can mail it to me:laughing7: is that part of a pewter spoon? Great lc,lots of detail:occasion14:

Nice digs Vino, :headbang: just another average ho-hum day for you though. :laughing7: (just kidding)

Great finds yet again George!
The shoe buckle clean up beautifully, hoping to find me one some day! :laughing7:

Thanks Creade.
And yes its part of a pewter spoon..

Very nice! Historical trifecta!

Great looking buckle it's sure is a big one, also that's a fine looking copper.

George that shoe buckle is great!, man they must've been some heavy shoes, good job on the lc too, plus the junk modern silver lol

Christ that's a big buckle or I just never noticed you have dainty hands during any of our hunts! Lol. That is a sweet sweet buckle and wayyyy better than any of Abe's.

Kidding aside complete shoe buckles, to me, is better than just about any other find. Probably mid to late 1700's?

Great LC and Mercs!

Keep it up!!!

Steve

VINO,VERY NICE BUCKLE.

Real nice finds George, the Buckle is real nice

That's a sweet buckle! As for the unpleasant pain of digging mid 20th century silver coins--at least it's a good indicator it hasn't been hunted much before, the good super oldies should still be there.

Now that is a true statement.
Thanks J.
