I found this stuff today. Does anyone know anything about silverware? The round button....I assume its a button....was found in the same hole

Ok. Found out it is a 18 century Fish Knife.

I can't tell from the pics, but since you're looking at it in person, if it has a slight bend at the tip, it's a butter knife, if not, a fish knife. Breezie

I meant 19. I can never keep that 18 means 17......19 means 18. The house wasn't occupied after the civil war. It closed in 1865.

Also Breezie I see my pic doesn't show the end of the piece. It does have that curve. I can't tell what kind of metal it is though it is pliable though. Any thoughts?

I'll post a pic of this house. The construction is unique with heavy timber frame with brick filled in between.

It's copper that was silver plated. HH
