At least I think its 1729. 7th cob to come out of this site. We have almost no time for metal detecting so just hitting what we already have permission for. Also got some buttons and spectacle buckle pieces. Nothing great. The cob was a nice surprise.

Awesome!!! Congrats!!!

Fantastic find, congrats! :occasion14:

Congrats. I have only gotten permission for one new property this year and have only hunted it once. I did find my first KG of the year on a older field spot yesterday. Nice find:occasion14:

I wish you had more time to hunt. Some of my favorite finds on here come out of your dirt. One if the few that is routinely in the very early stuff. Killer cob my friend

Man that is a beauty! Well Done:occasion14:

Awesome cob, congratulations on the save

How do you date a cob?

Every cob has unique symbolisms.. each characteristic of a period of time and place of manufacture.

But most of the time.. you date a cob by the date on the coin itself.

Granted many cobs are so crude or so worn that the dates are no longer legible or intact... so then the puzzle work begins.

Awesome job brother

I get 2 days a week where we might get a bit of hunting in but it rains most days. Or the sites are just so flooded its impossible to get into the fields. There are oodles of sites I want to ask for. Maybe I'll get into one of them at least before the season is over. :dontknow:

Amen brother. My sons nurse quit today so there will likely be even less time for it now. lol.
