1760s Half Reale. Morning Pix

Hi All,
Headed to the site I've been hitting almost daily for over a year.
It's like a new spot when using headphones.
Best Find: Carlos III 1760s half Real, 'Vitra Unum 176?' and pillar still visible.
nothing but recovery scratches on obverse, you can see the coarse sharp gravel this came from on the crusty copper.

"Two faces if the globe between the Pillars of Hercules at the Straits of Gibraltar with 'plus vltra'(more beyond) was spanish saying they owned the world. Two Globes. Coin used around the world. U.S. legal tender until 1857. VTRAQUE VNUM CARLO HISPAN ET IND REX VTRA QUE"

got a merc, and a crusty coin I had high hopes for,
nothin there, probably a Brit halfpenny.
got another crown cap, a .61 ringer, a .40 round with no primer evident, rimfire ?
a stripper with spent casing, 3 different caliber balls, a .43 rifle round.
some kind of brass counting machine,
And a lot of other targets I have swung over before.
Love those headphones.

Sure sounds like you'll find it if it's there !
I hunted for a year and only dug maybe 10 fairly modern silver coins.
In the last 3 months, I've gotten 3 - 1600s -1700s silvers,
luck of the draw ?
Maybe, I'm still hunting the same spots.

In the last 3 months, I've gotten 3 - 1600s -1700s silvers,
luck of the draw ?

Yup, when all is said and done and you have machine set-up right, your research is in order, I truly believe it's luck of the draw. Like I said, my area is super competitive and getting very tough. There's a select few around here who believe they own every spot. I find myself having to travel further and further lately just to keep myself from getting in a confrontation with certain people. Yesterday I found myself on a small blow-up raft going out to Racoon island out of Quincy. That's not something I would have been doing last year to find a good spot.

I'd say if they don't own the property, they don't own squat.
I've travelled to local islands to hunt, (not in a raft, but if I had to I certainly would)
I am fortunate to have a few private access spots.
Have yet to meet up with any other detectorists while digging

They don't own a damn thing, they just think they do. I actually had my tires flattened last week while I was detecting and I think it was another guy in my area. I may actually make a new thread on it asking for advice and give a heads up to anyone in my area.

Random act of vandalism ? no.
Eye for an eye ? no, I much prefer the New Testament, Turn the other Cheek.
But could I 'Do What Jesus Does' ?
