Detector(s) used
Fisher 1266x Minelab Explorer II Modified Bounty Hunter Garrett Ace 250(10x14 excelerator coil)
Hey, im still here yall. With it bein so cold and snow on the ground, metal detecting is over for now. So ive been goin thru withdrawl, lol So after talkin to my mother in law, she gave me a bag of coins that my father in law got when he was in the army. Some really cool looking coins in the first bag, including a 1775 georgivs iii rex coin. Not sure all about this coin, or the value. But its a really sweet looking coin. I also included a pic of a few of the coins from the one bag. There is still like 3 more bags full of coins from around the world that i wanna go thru. Thanks for looking. Any info on any of these coins in the pic would be helpful. Greg :read2:

No rules to counterfeits, they can be dead ringers for the real coins, or so wacky you wouldn't even know it was suppose to be a halfpenny.

Agreed, the one usual big difference is, the coins are usually much lighter in weight, even though a lot are same copper content, but the counterfeiters made their profit by reducing the amount of copper in each coin they made. Now some have base metals mixed in to increase the profit.
A good website to read to broaden your knowledge on the colonial era counterfeits is:
