Went out detecting For about 5 hours on sunday...Decided to hit a old colonial site that has been very productive in the past...I stuck to the cellar and old well, And moved branches and junk away to hunt...The coin was 6 feet from the well and the sweet dandy button was about 5...They came right out of the ground in great shape...Found some pewter spoon frags, buckle parts and a couple of tombacs...This is my first George III of any type...it was on my list :icon_thumleft:

Thanks for looking... Brian W

Gorgeous coin Mr. W :o Have only one KG III (VA halfpenny) and its toast.. Id also love to get over an Irish copper.. Great hunt and anytime you mark one off the list that looks like that coin, it requires a celebration + drinks :headbang:

You had a solid Sunday hunt in any Colonial hunter's book. :icon_thumleft: I am really wanting to excavate an Irish copper. You hit big on this one. I applaud your cleaning method as well. :hello2: As many would know, I am drooling over that chape and tongue. :icon_thumleft: :headbang:

Thanks for sharing, Brian.

Those are great finds man congrats.

I have had the same happen out there. Roll a few logs away and end up with a few more keepers.

Unfrickin' believable, Brian! That Irish halfpenny is one of the best I've ever seen! The dandy button tops off the hunt!
