Hello all....I have had a great time reading about all of your great finds over the last month or so and decided to post a pic of a 1787 Connecticut Colonial that I got this morning at an old farmhouse (circa 1796). It is soaking and this is what I have so far.

I hunt exclusively for old coins (usually with my brother) and we use White's DFX's.

This is my 3rd colonial in 3 weeks (2 Conn, 1 NJ) :)

My brother also found a beautiful 1838 Seated Dime this morning as well.

Happy hunting to all and I will post more pics of recent finds later this evening.

Greg

Welcome !

nice coin.

Man that must be nice.

I also hunt exclusively old coins, but I don't have a rat's prayer of finding a coin like that around here in the PNW.

Thanks for posting it so I can at least drool on one look at one.

Great find !! Congrats.

Awesome find! ;D ;D ;D I also mainly hunt for coins but don't get to close to the 1700's. ::)

Nice coin, Looks to be in nice condition. I found a 1787 new jersey copper this year. Seems like that year comes up alot.

thats a great coin! how about a pic of the reverse?

Those colonial coppers are easy to take! Great job you and your partners...................! 8)

Thanks for all the congrats all......it really is nice to have this hobby in the Northeast (although my VERY first coin with the detector straight out of the box 3 years ago was an 1875-S seated dime, what's that doing here?.... so go figure)

I am soaking my copper coins in Dawn, vinegar and salt.....you heard it here first folks...lol)

Am going back to the farmhouse (2 acres of LAWN in the AM so we will hopefully chat again tomorrow)

HH all
