Great find. Don't know what it is exactly but must be colonial ??? By the way. Welcome to TNET Ron

Think it's common (Ryder 27) but Nice! Very true, that condition is hard to photograph well.

That one has great detail, I was hoping for you it was one of the rare varities, but after looking at them, it is as IP thought a Ryder 27, Common type. :( But, despite the surface corrosion, what details!!!!! That is a nice one for sure.

Don

Just saw this way cool find. Did the site produce anything else?

What a great find! As everyone else already stated, there is great detail on the coin!

I resized the pic, and adjusted the contrast just a bit to bring out more of the detail.

Congrats on a great find!

Beautiful coin. :o I am partial to the Vermont coppers because the first copper i was able to I.D. with absolute certainty was the one in my avatar. It will always be my favorite. Congrats on your find.

Great find, why is the coin though so much like a British coin in design ?.

Has to be wrong because there is nothing on that coin that is the same as any British coin.

yes,my mistake.they are original coins .but some were struck on planchets that were previously say a king george copper or nova constellatio's.i think he's reffering to they resemble british coinage.with the likeness of king george on the obverse and seated person with shield on reverse.
