1795 Half Reale Button?

Hello all, dug this rough shape half Reale and noticed what looks like a shank remnant on reverse. Anyone seen these converted to buttons before? Has a crude patina for a silver coin. Thanks for the help, snaps

It looks like a crude casting of a coin that was made into a button.

HuntinDog yea ive never seen that kinda crust on silver before, sure did ring out sweet like silver when I dug it

They also make cuff links out of Spanish coins... both real coins and reproductions.

Tom that's interesting if it's reproduction cause a lot of real Spanish reales came out of that area
