1797 Cartwheel penny staring up at me!

Starting last fall I began detecting some colonial fields. Today the farmer was out tilling and as I walked along with my detector I seen the big fat green patina rim sticking out of a clump of dirt. Here is a cell phone pic. It still has detail to it and right now I'm soaking it in olive oil. Maybe tomorrow a better picture will take place

...ok, updated with pics. Thought I'd see a bit more detail to it but at least it's identifiable

Hey Chris......Very nice find. Did this come from the same area you have been searching? Where the belt plate came from? You will have it at the meeting next weekend I would assume.

Hi Mark, this came from a differant field than the belt plate but only a couple of miles east of it though. Yes, I will have it with me next week.
