Found my best large copper ever....a 1798 Draped Bust Large Cent (type 2). I was very lucky that it was in such great condition. The V nickle is the first I have been able to pull a date from. The 1898 Barber dime is the first "O" mint mark I have on any coin to date. Thanks, and HH!

All cleaned up nice, 1798 is sharp !!

Nice find plus it appears you did a great job on the clean up process👍

Congrats on pulling all those keepers. :occasion14: I wonder what happened to the one Indian? How did you clean the LC?

Yeah that IH is munched. The LC had a flaky outer shell that was falling off so I picked off as much as I could easily manage. Then I soaked it EVOO to get the more stubborn gunk off. here are some BEFORE pics.

This EVOO process is new to me and it did the job, well done👀

Great work restoring that LC without destroying the patina- there is definitely an art to it. My 2 cents- try using mineral oil vs EVOO next time as it tends to not darken up the surface.

Great finds Mr. Digger!! That LC is simply incredible, and the rest of the finds are not too shabby either- Congrats fellow Mass hunter!

Thanks Jeff! The SE Pro did me proud on these last few hunts. I see you swing one too!

Some great finds you've made recently, love them barbers and the DB lc is great!

DIGGER THAT CROTAL OR SLEIGH BELL IS REALLY NEAT. 1700S ITEMS MAKE YOUR FINDS COMPLETE. A SILVER SPOON AND TOMBAC AND LARGE CENT, SHOWS HOW YOUR DAY OF HUNTING WAS SPENT.... ZUTPHEN

Great find and in great shape.

Wow! A ton of nice finds! Congrats!

Great looking LC!!

All your finds look great, I'm sending you all my old cooper for a clean up. Lol

Btw- Sweet Crotal bell!!

Wow. That LC is gorgeous. I love that chocolate brown patina. Did you notice if the Olive Oil darkened it a bit? Either way, looks great. Thanks for sharing.
