18 kt gold chain??

beautiful gold piece found

I found this piece of jewelry in a pawn shop a few years ago. It is an 18kt gold chain with links that look like nails and a Christ. I think it is a beautiful jewelry piece. I always wonder if it is an special design. I do not see any marks other than the 18kt. If you have seen a similar design or have knowledge about this particular piece, please share that information with me. Thanks

Possible bad news. There is a practice of using 18 ct clasps by Italian makers
leading buyers to think the entire piece is gold.
I'd buy a gold test kit(about $12 on line) and follow directions. My kit can
also test silver and platinum.
Then then is gold plate and electroplate. Solid gold is very heavy.
