Found these in a 1800's farm field. Any identification on the mystery coin and the button? Is the lettering on the button raised or indented?

indented

No help here but congrats on your finds

Just based on the size I'd guess a half cent for the mystery coin

any idea how to clean it?

Everybody says "don't clean coins" but that one, like many of mine have been, is so shot that it's not worth anything anyway. My suggestion, above all else, is to use an electrolysis setup. It will destroy the patina and make it a pink-ish copper color, but it brings out details that will allow you to ID it probably pretty easily. I have done this on several completely slick coins where you couldn't tell the obverse from the reverse or see any detail whatsoever and I've been able to pull identifying features off of all of them and dates off of about half.

Congrats on your finds! I'm not sure what the mystery coin is, but I'm sure someone will know. First step is to take 4 or 5 additional really good photos, no Quarter needed in these. Maybe moisten the coin and take photo (zoom half way) at an angle. Play with light angles to get best features to show.
