1800's Farmstead

I have hit this old farmstead 3 times now, and all 3 times I have found some good stuff. I hope to make it back real soon. Zero trash makes it easy to find treasure. I found a buckle, a horseshoe, a Columbia 6-Lever pad lock in near perfect condition, and an 1884 maple syrup tap, which is in storage but was the first real piece of history pre1900 with my metal detector. That was a cheap Harbor Freight detector.

Using the Garrett Ace 250 I found the buckle and horseshoe. I found the padlock using my Whites Eagle Spectrum and a similar buckle that is also in storage from last year.

I can only go out there at the beginning of spring before the weeds grow tall, so that's all for this year, I'm just so happy about the lock and it's condition.

Found the exact same lock here in wyo.

Nice, it is definitely one of my favorite finds. I have found a few modern locks but that was a first for me. Hopefully we can stumble across another one.

It's actually raining in wyo thank god cuz we need it , found several old locks but there all screwed to my shed and I ain't goin out there to take a pic rite now! Good stuff keep on diggn'

For sure, you too brother.

Nice lock! I just dug a large horseshoe on my land (found a ox shoe a few days ago). It is more exciting to dig historical items like this than just about anything shy of gold!

Awesome find!!! the lock is cool!!

Congrats, nice finds.:icon_thumright:

I've yet to find an old padlock, all of mine have been modern. That one is beautiful!

Congrats on it, I hope you display it somewhere. Maybe even alongside all the other old padlocks that I'm not finding. :tongue3:
