1800's house

Flynndfx40 and I hunted a spot where a house once stood in the early to mid 1800's. All that is left is the well and lots of square nails. He found 3 flat buttons. I found 5 flat buttons, 2 axe heads, a bridle ring and buckle, and an 1846 Large Cent. Going back for more.

Nice finds! The old copper is great, but I really like the axe heads! I guess Lizzy and I have a connection of sorts!?!?! Yikes! :o

Re: 1800's house

Great finds.

I like old copper... not like old silver though... or old gold.

Something neat about those large cents.

What was the layout like you were searching? a field or woods now since the house is gone?

Thanks for sharing

This is a nice find. I have found about 8 of those axe heads like the one you have at my site. Keep on looking.

Re: 1800's house

it is an open field next to a woods and about 20 yds. from the road. But the well is concealed from the road so noone knew it was there. A friend told us about it.

Re: 1800's house

Cheers! It makes me happy when us Kentuckians can recover an old Large Copper. They're a bit tougher to find here than they are in the NorthEast. Well done.
