1800's local estate sale.

What a awesome treasure hunt. If I had $20,000. I would have come home with truck loads, even a Model t with wooden wheels for $5500. :D Well I only spent $220.50, that was enough. You would have flipped over the 1880's map, the scroll, roll up kind, went for $1800. :o

I did buy a couple of 3 cent pieces that I am thrilled with the first is an 1852, the second no readable date but it does have the fig leafs and arrows around the III, so it has to date 1854-1862? The dimes were rather nice seated liberty variety 2 1857 & 1877.

The Wm Rogers dessert knives in the original box was a treat. An old oak table, we need to put back together. Some blue plates for $5 that surprised me when I found the large plates had Currier and Ives Royal Ironstone on them. A nice box of rose plates, some from England.

Ty wanted to go and see the treasures and fell in love with an old steam engine we could not afford. He also found and old military class ring in a mens jewelery box, a nice assortment in there so I bought the whole box for "US" for $40. There is a 1893 columbian worls fair half dollar medal in there that I kept, the pocket watch, the cameo button, and the star medal.

Well enough gabbing here are the pictures!

Kim,
That stray dog has rubbed off on you-you Lucky dog.lol
I love the ring, and pm me if you would let the Service metal go. I
adore pocket watches, and that one is awesome. Any key wound pocket watch is valueable.
Congrads on your treasures, and for saving parts of history.

CG,
L@@ks like $220 well spent to me. You got some very nice things. That looks like one BIG ring there. :o
I love going to auctions. You can come back with some great buys.
Congrats and thanks for all the pictures.

Re: 1800's local estate sale.

Thanks so much guys!

MM, I have small fingers :D but it is a BIG ring. Ty can't wear it (as he says YET!), he's afraid to lose it. I'm thinking of getting a heavy duty chain for it, so he can wear it aroound his neck.

Joe, make you a deal? I can't find an exact match on the service medal, what can you tell me about it? It says E PLURIBUS UNUM around the eagle, and is plain on the back. I Ass u me it's from WWII. I did find that the little eagle button in there was a honorable discharge button. They called it the "flying chicken"? because it looks more like a chicken than an eagle. :D

The pic could have come out better but here is the button.

Wow! Really great haul and some nice stuff. Estate sales are the best and if you know what your looking for can be very profitable.

That is great that folks were keeping those wonderful historical items as local as possible, would have been a feeding frenzy round here, I really like the old car, I wouldn't have been able to help myself, really enjoyed the link to the auction, thanks for sharing it!

You did very well and all those trucks and tractor, man I wish I were at that sale.

Funny, I did think about alot of you folks, including Gypsy. When the old wrenches went up for bid I thought of buying them for River! :D I was glad to be able to take you folks along.

If we had the time, energy and OR money, we would have loved to play around with one of those T's or tractors!
