Met up with Brad this morning.I wanted to hit this place in downtown philly we have been to many of times..Now i know my deus better thought i would give it a shot since there is so much iron there.
As you can tell by the large cent bust rust spot there was a cut nail laying right on it.
Man im falling in love with that detector again..The eagle came out in great shape thats not usual..
After i found the eagle i text Abe a pic of it and said (You like my eagle) I cant write what he said back..lol. 5min.Later. I dug the LG..Then text him that!!!! Poor guy..He had to work....Any way it was a good 4hour hunt and came away with a few keepers..But we had fun...
Ps..If Brads quarter was a capped bust i would be hunting alone for now on...lol
Enjoy the pics..George

Awesome finds George! Congrats. Not sure which I like best! The FE is without a doubt the nicest dug one that I've seen.

Thanks Dave....By the way they were found 2 feet away from your 1830s 2 pence...Maybe even 1ft..There was all iron in the hole...And so was Brads barber.
All in a 3ft area..

Ya know, I wonder if that dirt wasn't dredged from the river? Silvers from it sure have a lot of tarnish for some reason.

You never know..
But old coins should have tarnish..lol

Beautiful coins man. I've been fortunate to find flying eagles over the yrs. Last yr ipulled out a beauty like the one you got. There usually toasted. I visited philly last yr for the first time. My mouth was watering looking at old sites. I'm in Pittsburgh p.a. its old and rich in history here to. I just loved the philly area though. Keep up the good work. The dues looks like a nice unit

Maybe it'd the high iron content in the soil?

Might be Brad....I know it sure is noisy and chatters a lot.

WTG on the LC & FE. Still looking for my 1st FE.

Excellent finds.
Those Eagles aren't easy to come by. They just didn't make them for long. I have only one in my collection and I've never dug one.

Congrats on your awesome finds.

Nice! Is it me or do those drapes busts hold up better than the matron heads? Been a lot of DB's on here and the detail has been great on most of them! Still waiting for mine...

They absolutely do. All my DBS are way nicer than my matron heads.

Wow real nice FE and the draped bust has great detail

Thanks Guys..
George

Vino, you keep outdoing yourself. Your Flying Eagle is in unbelievably nice condition. And trust me, had I found it I would be texting photos of it to about everyone. That is once my heart quit racing and I caught my breath. Congratulations on two beautiful coins. Better keep Brad around, he seems to bring you added luck.
