1803 Draped Bust Dime ! Great day of detecting today. Was invited to hunt a farm field today. Close to an old hotel. Had a blast and found my second rare silver in a few months as well as a a Flying Eagle which has always eluded me until today. Was using the Equinox on Field 2. Other finds were Barber Dime & Quarter. Sterling belt buckle. Woods Hibernia 1723, Draped bust copper, Draped bust half cent and an unknown KG. and a V nickle.Other do dads as well.
Thanks for the invite Paul.

Oh my god that is beautiful!! Banner for sure! Early US silver!!!! Sweeeeeet

WOW, the eagle on the back of that dime looks pissed as hell! I love it!

He looks like he could throw the British out of the country all by himself!

You were obviously the first ever swinger at that field party nice work

What a collection! Banner hunt in my book. That dime has good details, i did a quick look up of value and was astonished. I wonder how much the scratches detract from value on a quality coin? Could it be restored professionally? It would already be graded as dug so... Huge congrats!!

Awesome hunt! Big congratulations!

Great job, wish I had places like that here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome hunt, shame the dime took a bit of a beating, looks like random rock scrapes from the plow, but still has a lot of detail for such an old, thin coin.

That Draped Bust dime was in great shape when it was lost. The scratches remind me of the 1803 Draped Bust dime I found in a plowed field. Exciting and heartbreaking at the same time. I'm putting my Banner Vote in for this one.

What a fantastic day you had! Congratulations and thanks for posting.

That is one rare find. Congrats on the Bust Dime. Banner for sure!

Slow down man, you aren't allowed to be on the banner twice at the same time. It's just bad form.

--In all seriousness, awesome find! You have my vote once again.

But it took me ten years lol. Thanks everyone. I still can't believe I dug to old rare silvers within a months time. Didn't really know how rare these are until I saw that there were only 33,040.00 minted. Bummed about the scratches even more after reading that. But hey it's in my hands now.
I know I have been using the Equinox 800 that is following in it's predecessor, the Etrac's footsteps for sniffing out silver.

Unfortunately they are. Don't think I did it but many years being plowed sure didn't help.

IMO you can 90% tell if you scratched it , I'd NEVER forgive myself.

Also your way to Humble as any 1 of those finds would have made my year but that 1803 with those details WOW_WE_WOW!!!!!

Thanks for the invite Paul.

I vote 'Banner" for all of the Finds but the 1803 DB in any condition is of-course a banner by its self.
Amazing.

With the DB Half you found & now the Dime , I'd be playing the lottery (at-least 1 day a week for the $10-$100.000 prizes).

Another early U.S. silver!? Man, you've got some great sites!
