1804 Half Cent & Copper Ornamental Thing
Hi All!
Got out with 'Worltalker' for a very wet hunt yesterday,
Scored this 1804 Half Cent just under the surface, got tossed into the junk pocket as a clad quarter,
glad I looked a little closer before I used it at the tollboth
I am in the market for a new camera,
one that takes good pix of bad coins
Of course it looks much better in hand than in photos
The copper ornament appears to be pretty old, heavy crude casting,
Anyone care to venture a date, or an idea of what this is ?
Dug a rather strange button, appears to be lead with brass shank, extremely heavy
for it's size. (same size but a little more convex than a one piece eagle cuff button).
and of course, a spoon, bottom pic as original.
"1915 Panama Pacific Exposition" souvenir spoon Tower of Jewels on top; "Palace of Horticulture" in the bowl & on back is "Court of the Four Seasons" "Made by the Niagara Falls Co., 1877" on back; the spoon is silverplate.
Back out for another hunt today,
