1810 Classic Head Half Cent

Hi all. Haven’t posted in quite awhile. Its been tough finding new spots and its been too hot so I havent been hunting much. Did manage my first decent oldie in over a month tonight though from a random spot along a creek. Toasty classic head half cent. Only my second ever too

A very nice, very old half cent. This heat is pretty awful...especially if you are slogging through the woods. You get bonus points for getting out there!

Nice find Toasted. The Half Cent is a tough coin to find ( at least here in Illinois ). I have only found one in 30 years.

AG3 may be generous. Check the smooth, flat rims, heavy dings, and discoloration, and that's just the obverse. A dealer would probably retail it at 20, drop it in the 50% off box for a Sunday sale and be happy. I would be surprised if an ANA dealer would state he'd pay $10 across the counter for this coin.

Ive got a entire mason jar full of coppers that wouldnt fetch $10

Ive got maybe 5 half cents. They are much harder to find than large cents and British coppers
