Hello fellow treasure hunters. I was in about 25ft of water. The bottom was sand and I wasn't expecting much. I found 1 musket ball and them BAM! There she was. One 2 hand sweeps and it was staring at me. I rubbed it and saw the GR. My best find so far.

wow! outstanding find :icon_thumleft:

Unbelievable recovery! You make me want to take up underwater detecting. Did you have the belt plate professionally restored?

Hi, No I just rubbed it with warm soapy water , slowly, slowly making sure to leave the letters black and original. The black stuff just flakes off the brass when it dries. J

That's a great find and in amazing condition. You need to record your dives. I would love to watch them.

SPECTACULAR!!! War of 1812 items are very rare, and your piece is exquisite in form and condition!! I voted BANNER.

Banner Find! Beautiful!

My banner vote is in as well. That is incredible. Was it in a river or lake? Congrats.

Absolutely gorgeous and my vote for BANNER! Sub 8-)

Great rescue. My vote is on the way. The water probably saved that item. Historic.
