Sure, its green and crusty but there's a lot of detail hiding behind all that "patina".

The picture doesn't do it justice.

This is the 3rd LC and the 2nd Matron I've found on this site this week.

1817 Coronet
1828 Coronet
1853 LC
1862 IHP (fatty)

I'm happy with the great finds on this site, but I find myself wondering, "Where's the OLD silver hiding"?

Ok, gimme your 2 Large Cents Worth - Should this be cleaned?

Re: 1828 Coronet - the third LC from this site

Congratulations on another Large Cent.

I would have had that beauty clean the night I found it ;D

PM sent, but clean at your own discreation.

Some people swear against it, but I don't usually care about if I "ruin" a coin. I clean them because I want to lol

A cleaned coin can lose value if you care about that.

I personally don't on coins like that.

Some coins I won't clean. Others I will. That one I would. It's not a higher grade condition so you can't really do much more damage to it.

Re: 1828 Coronet Large Cent (NEW PIC)

I was able to bring this one back to this point, where I decided to stop.

It looks much better - I'm pleased. ;D
