While going thru a box of family photos and books, I came across an original schoolbook dated 1833 called the History of the United States. It's still in great condition, binding still holds up and the pages are all intact.

The chapters are Discoveries, Settlements, Wars of William, Anne and George II, French and Indian War, War of the Revolution, Federal Constitution, Washington's Administration, Adam's Administration, Jefferson's Administration, Madison's Administration, Monroe's Administration and ends with Adam's Administration.

It was published by H.F. Sumner & Co. New York. Does anyone have a clue what this book would be worth?

Post a picture of it perhaps?

Abebooks is a useful resource to guesstimate a books rarity or worth. Enay is also good but search the completed listings to see what the item actually sold (or didnt) sell for. Just because someone is selling a book for $100 doesnt mean its worth that much. Keep in mind that its only worth what someone will pay. Religious books & text books are VERY common during that time period & most carry very little monetary value. Also it is printed in NY & probably one of many in existence. If you find a book that was printed in the South before the Civil War you're usually looking at some $$$$. There were very few printers here vs. the North. I looked your book up and it starts at $18. Hope this helps & HH!
