I went back to that site I was telling you all about...I didn't have much luck in the field I went to but found an 1841 Dime, small buckle, and some other thing, I think I have seen one before but I don't know what it is. I was thinking it was used for the horses, but I might be wrong. Any idea of what it is and how old it is? This is all I had after nearly 7 hours in the rain. I was soaked from head to toe. But, I had fun...I just wish it wasn't raining so hard. I am sure we have all done this, but I had the waterproof cover on it, and I had it wrapped in like 7 walgreens bags to ensure no water got it. 8)
BTW, the dime has not been cleaned, I think I'm going to leave this one alone.

the dime is in superb condition , you should be proud , and yes your right dont clean it

I think I would leave the dime as is also....looks pretty nice! Your last object looks like an old english riding stirrup, could be wrong but that is what it appears to be to me. Nice finds! Congrats!

Yes. It's an old stirrup. Probably late 1700's -early 1800's. I like the dime too. Nice!!

Nice job on the dime, Kevo! You have a good site there!

Kyle

Congrats Kevo!!! A couple of nice finds for sure. I'd stay in the rain for those too.
I've heard a lot of great things about the Walgreens bags. I was a CVS bag guy, but the occasional pinhole has convinced me to look for a better quality bag. ;D

Ha, I didn't cry....instead I did about fifty cartwheels throughout the field. Seems like an easy task, but I had a rain poncho on and the cord for my headphones running under it and a shirt so they didn't get wet. So, I had to do them with a detector in one hand and a shovel in another.

Nice work, Kevo!

Leave that dime alone. It is a beautiful coin. 8)

Great looking dime and cool old stirrup!
