I posted about two week's ago on this old log cabin, found a Vietnam gallantry cross medal...well,went back today hoping to find some CW find's.Becuase of the proximity to Antietam I thought I was set.Unfortunately I got a little side tracked,Come to find out the guy who was living here prior to the now owner's was a decorated veteran from Nam'.This explain's the gallantry cross, not to mention these find's...The owner say's he found similar item's in a junk pile on the backside of the property, some other ribbons were way to gone to identify.Gonna go back next weekend and look for more...Just can't understand why these piece's were discarded as they were. They need to be remembered and they will...Who know's what else is out there, kinda disgrace to his name and what he fought for....Name was J.J. Hooper(maj.).Gonna try and research his military history if I can. Here's a few pic's,hope to bring you all more next weekend....

Hey Seeker, the first medal is a Metorious Service medal...second one is some kind of Saint Barbara medal I guess,"patron saint to the artillery man".Haven't had time to research them yet but will let you know.

Very nice finds! I've got an MSM but issued after 1969, LOL! HH, Mike
