The weird thing is the 1956 rosie has to be silver but it looks clad doesn't it.

he's probably commenting on the little bit of what looks like corrosion on the lower right side of the coin / looks silver to me, who knows it might have been near a rusty nail or something rusty.... btw not to hijack the tread, but GD has a great place to check out!!! good deal on the great finds! :headbang: :coffee2:

Well the spotty corrosion looks like rusty spots, true, but if you look at the edge of the coin you can see a reddish tint like you see on clads. Having said this, I'm not doubting that it's silver. It just looks otherwise.

The mystery piece is on the right hand side of the last photo. His photos are so big you don't see it unless you scroll over there when you get to the end of the message.

It looks to be made of sliver. If it were cleaned up and a good clear smaller photo of the front and back displayed someone might be able to identify it.
