I went back out to the spot that me and my brother were doing so well at this summer, and I'm glad I did! The winter storms really changed the beach around and I got into the good targets right away. I've also been messing around more with the settings on my DFX and have been digging smaller and deeper targets than usual. First coin I dug was a big copper and I got all excited but it ended up being a 1948 British penny.. Ok I'll take it. After a few clad coins I got a whisper of a signal and dug up an 1859 indian head cent!! It's going to be hard to find one any older than that! I believe they made a few in 58? Next I got a couple toasted coppers that I believe are large cents and I started to wonder where's the silver?? After some more clad and a few flat buttons I pulled a Mercury dime, ok not exactly what I'm here for but I'll take it. Then about a half hour later I get a nice 84 on the DFX and pull out my first seated quarter!! 1845! I was so pumped up I let out a big Yelp! I didn't find much after that but I was going home a happy camper!
