1850's Commemorative Medallion! Louis (Lajos) Kossuth

I was out detecting today at a civil war road bed. i found this commemorative bust of Louis Kossuth. Around the edge it reads "Louis Kossuth The Washington of Hungary" He was the leader of hungarian independence and spoke to the U.S. congress in Cleveland Ohio in 1852. Pretty cool, I've never seen one before.

***Other finds included
3 wheat pennies (1920's)
2 Indian Head pennies (1864,63)
New York Staff Officers Button (stepped on, 3pc)
Flat button
brass horse bit chain
Possible colonial knee buckle
A corner of an ornate shoe buckle (colonial)
And some miscellaneous brass

nice find

Greetings All! I am trying to reach the original poster via PM but he does not seem to be reachable. Does anyone know how I can contact him? I am trying to find out what he figured out about the Kossuth medal. Thank, you!

Very nice. There were some calabash flasks blown with his likeness back in the 1850s as well.

Just saw that this thread has some age on it!

Hoping to to find out if he still has that medal, but this is a very old thread from 2012 and I think I read in one of his posts that he moved from VA.
