On my 4th visit to this old house, I finally found something older than the 1920 wheatie I got on the first day. It rang variously in the 70's range, so it must have been on edge. It was 75 flat on the towel.
An 1871 Canadian Victoria dime. I think it's an H, looks to be a mint mark at the bottom of the reverse.
I've got no idea as to grade, and now I'll see if I can figure out how to post pics.
