Been hunting the same street tear-out for the past couple months.
Unfortunately the construction work will be coming to an end soon, but it was nice while it lasted.

Not sure I’m posting in the right place, because these finds have nothing to do with storage unit finds, coinstar finds, error pocket change finds, or 30 minute videos with no pics promoting YouTube channels.

These are just some pics of metal detecting finds, so I hope I’m at the right place.

Best find was a beat up and bent 1857-0 seated dime. Last pic is after I straightened and cleaned back to view mintmark.

Little lead seal. I can see a 5 pointed star, but can’t make out the rest.

Small pickle jar with irredescent patina.

Also dug a buffalo and a v nickel.

Thanks for looking.

Congrats on the saves.
Cool pic of the road tear-out area you're hunting.

VERY cool stuff Picker! Love that jar too. Do I see a pick or a sickle type thing on the crusty thing? Like an emblem or coat of arms type design? It’ll be interesting to see if you can identify it. An 1857 anything that’s silver would be a hell of a find around here, bent or not! Nice work in that site,on to the next when you find it!

thanks. I did a little tooth picking on it earlier today and the large vertical bar at the bottom right is part of the iron wire.
So perhaps it says 51 at the bottom. Still a bit unsure.

thanks. We’re on the last stretch now.
There is talk of just milling this last section and putting a topcoat on it.
Hopefully they tear the whole thing out, if so I’m going on at night, so I don’t miss anything.

thanks idx. I’m not sure what that bottom part reads. I have a lot of unknown seals.
Would be nice if someone worked on a database for 19th century lead seals found in the u.s.
ukdfd has a nice database, but most everything they have Is from European countries.

Nice stuff! The dime cleaned up real well.
