Wow, really nice! Details?! How deep, what it'd ring up for on VDI? Cellar Hole, field, House, park?

A find that like deserves a nice write up!

Holy cow! Awesome find. More details!

Thanks everyone. Had an hour to kill on some ranch land. There is mining history in the area but no evidence of it today. Hardly any beeps at all, then decided to head home and on way back to the Jeep, I heard a sweet solid 25(Equinox 600 park 1 mode) found it only about 4 inches deep!

Is this a California coin ? Sutters mill 1848 yeehaw!

Hi, wow nice find:occasion14: A gold coin is top of my bucket list finds i have yet to find

Outstanding find!!!!!!

WOW. Somebody spent some serious time trying to figure out where that coin went. Nice find.

Dulce!

Where was that coin made?

You got my vote for a Banner!

Well played!

Good luck to all,

The Old Bookaroo

That was my question! I believe 1857 "S" Double Eagles that didn't come from the wreck of the Central America are quite rare - because most of them went down with the ship.

Good luck to all,

The Old Bookaroo

Are you kidding me!! Congrats on the amazing find!!

Beautiful Gold coin recovery! :notworthy:

What a fantastic find!!! Nice advertising for the Equinox 600 too lol. Congrats! Wow!

Wow, killer find. This probably isn't getting the love it deserves because it isn't in the "Today's Finds" section but I think most of us would do just about anything to make a find like that!

Nominate for a Banner and move it on up!

Good luck to all,

The Old Bookaroo
