Hey, zoysters, I have been doing some serious relic hunting with the rest of "Bone Dry Detecting" quite recently. After about 3 hours of detecting, I received a reading that many people wouldn't dig, considering that it was a "Foil" hit. So, after digging about 4 inches down, I got my first coin: an 1865 Injun. Well, being a semi-pro, I re-checked my hole, and was greeted with a "Foil" reading again. I smiled and yelled to Doy,"I'm gettin' another low tone on my analog meter". Doyboy then ran over to my retrieval site and witnessed a Three-Cent nickel recovery. I instantly jumped to my feet, took my pouch off, and while clenching the coin in my fist, I proceeded to perform a one-handed cartwheel in celebration; Doy joined me by doing a handstand.
My day ended with a 1902 Barber qwatta, which I accidently rubbed since it looked like a clad quarter. I guess chewing bubble gum, analyzing VDIs, and digging don't combine well.
As I turned my detector off for the day, Doy glanced over at me and said,"Bucky Boy, you infiltrated the VDI system by digging such a low reading on that Three-Center." Hehehehehe.
