I went Sunday for about three hours. Beans are out of the fields and I had high hopes. Well they lasted for about a hour lol. Pulled some old iron and some rusty thingy joe bobs. After two hours I would have been happy if I pulled a zinc penny out of the ground. The owner told me he didn't think I would find very much of the good stuff but I keep on swinging. I know there is a spot next to the house. It's a 20' by 20' that I call the honey hole. I swear I could hear it calling me. Didn't have much time left so out of the field I go. I've been slowing down on my swing speed here in the honey hole and it's paid off. Found the normal trash. Hit a spill hole with three wheats. I seen the first one and then found the other two that were still stuck together. I think they were glued together by someone lol. I did find my seventh ring. Gold plated and toasted. Some more trash then a 83 signal. Pulled the plug to see a nice fat root going across the middle of the hole. Loosened up the dirt to see a little shiney under the root. Seen it was a Barber dime. Pleaseeeee let it be a 1800's coin. Take me to the 17th century pleaseeeeee. My oldest coin to date is a 1902 IH. Needless to say I still got time this year to keep on trying. GL & HH

Thanks Wingmaster, surely you can't be running out of places to hunt in the big city. Parks are always cool.

Decent finds from 1860's Farm House.. nice to get a silver .you will find 1800's coins keep searching old sites from that era...some of the old farm sites yield decent finds & some dont..you did better than I did a old hatchet head and farm bits .

These parks are well pounded and every silver is 10"+ no kidding, I only dig the real deep sounding targets unless the ID is dead on for silver and it's very rare to get an 8" silver but the MXT is dead on ID accurate to 8 or 9". I've been too busy working on my house to get out and ask permission and not much time for detecting anyway. I could load up and do some asking but will waste detecting time unless I get a quick yes, so I'll try and ferret out some pounded park deep silver. HH
