A friend found it, so its not in my collection.

That's a nice friction primer and you're right those are small and not easy to detect.

In that case then you have at least 6 Bormann fuses yet to be found on your site.

Actually I was referring to the Bormann fuses that were threaded into the cannon balls. There should be some of these somewhere on your site. These in my image were also Nebraska finds.

My bad, wasnt processing at full speed lol. We have not found any fragments with threaded holes for a Bormann fuse. A friend dug two with the fuse hole and they were a closer match to what they called a side loader with a wooden plug. Again, smooth holes, no threads. I did find a saw headstamp today, but I'm in CO today and tomorrow.

Looks more like it would have been a massacre with that kind of armament raining down.

Hello Jagchaser, that is one cool post. I live in Omaha, and was wondering if I would make the drive out to Broadwater area, the site of the Indian battle, who would I talk to about detecting there or do I have to ? The town I see has less than 150 people. If I would dig only one arrowhead or relic it would be worth it, kids would love it too. Any info let me know thanks !

Wow, guess the location isn’t that secret anymore. :dontknow:

If that guess of mine is correct, the site is no doubt off limits to the average detectorist, it being a state historical site. Too bad :(

AWESOME FINDS!!!
