Hello,

I recently acquired this coin. I am still a neophyte (big time beginner) when it comes to grading and errors but i was wondering if anyone could give their opinions on:

1. Grade

2. Possible Error 1 - Possible Misplaced date, a number 6 or 8 being stamped in the reeded edge, well below the normal date location. 4th edition cherrypickers guide has the 1876p (not s) with this error pg 243. It is URS-5 meaning there are 9-16 known examples. This error is not noted in the 4th edition for s, just p.

3. Possible Error 2 - Possible Double Die obverse (see arrows). This error is not noted on an 1876s in 4th edition cherrypickers.

Thanks very much

I would say VF details but cleaned. There may be something in the denticles but hard to say what. The doubling is machine doubling, not doubled die. This is caused by slight movement in the die during striking.
