Nice finds, i got two 1884 V nickels so far this season, the key date is 1885...

Park, thank you for the info. I am just getting in to metal detecting and I didn't know that about the 1885 date. I just peeked on ebay at some of the 1885's....WOW. Well, if I'm ever lucky enough to find one, it will be an UGLY coin (I'm finding them in the ocean) but I'm sure it will still hold some value.
