The 1930's aerial map showed a lake that is now covered by interstate 81. So I thought I would go play around in the woods near there. Turns out I was right. Found a tag that says Meadow Lake Park. Yep that was the name of it. Covered a ton of ground and it was quiet until I got a 79. Thought it was going to be a penny, and then I dug a 1898 Canadian 5 Cent. I was really excited to find that little one. Finished the day up with a 1912 wheat. Looks like I'll be heading back next chance I get.

The nepa research king strikes again, good job, sweet old Canadian silver!

Was this a natural lake Will? If not, any idea when it was impounded? Nice going.

Love that old Canadian coin. Your research and intuition paid off. Hope you find more goodies there.

Thanks! Didn't hit the other side of the brook though. Might be worth swinging the brook. It was part of the lake.

I don't think so, but not certain. I believe I read it was built to fill steam locomotives. It was filled in probably in the 50's to build 81. Well whenever they built it. Luna park was lost the same way.

Thanks LD! Hopefully I'll find my first LC there. The location is also along the wagon road

Woohoo nice Vickie fishscale! I found an 1886 not so long ago. I'm glad your research paid off as it's never easy, and seldom rewarding in my experience.
Congrats

Thanks Scrap! My research pays ofF more times then not. Even if it was hit. I just do the woods around it.

Great looking fishscale Nepa, your research paid off.

Great research! Glad it worked out, and I hope you find some more goodies!

Nice job on the research and saving a part of it's history. Plus a silver to booth.

Nice Canadian silver found one of those mine had an H under the date at the very bottom.

Nice vickie, good shape too!

Good job confirming the site. Nice Vicky, one of my fav coins!

I have to say that is pretty impressive in research-with even the park tag as proof.
Hats off! :award_star_bronze_2
And, a nice coin!
(Smart to take your wedding ring off too before you go out!)

Thanks! I was stoked to find out it was what I was looking for after I cleaned it. As far as the wedding ring. Fell off a ladder the other day just a few feet off the ground. Ring got caught. Finger swelled up so bad that I had to cut it off.

Excellent job. That tag reminds me of a locker tag that was found in the water, not far from where an old Beach and Pool once stood. Research, research, research. Dig, dig, dig. Congrats
